At UT Southwestern, students are inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha either near the end of their junior
year, or near the beginning of their senior year. New are elected by existing AOA student members through
a well defined process. Any student with a GPA in the top 10% of his class is eligible to apply
for election during his junior year, and this cutoff drops to the top 25% for election during the senior year.
The UTSW AOA chapter recently revised guidelines for evaluation of applicants. These guidelines were designed
to ensure that academics, service, extracurricular activities and leadership are all considered in the
selection process.
All eligible students are invited to submit a CV (click here for a sample) that addresses these four
characteristics. At the appropriate time each year, the AOA leadership will send out communications to
the eligible student body inviting them to submit CVs and providing details of the submission process.
